Start with the eligibility question.

CDCP is for eligible Canadians with adjusted family net income under $90,000 and no private dental insurance.

The clinic can help you understand the stated requirements and the information the application asks for. The program makes the approval decision, and the clinic has no part in making it.

What the clinic can and cannot do.

  1. 01

    Understand the starting requirements

We help you read the eligibility requirements, including the adjusted family net income threshold and the rule concerning private dental insurance.

We explain the criteria as the program states them, in the order the form asks for them.

  2. 02

Know what the application is asking

The clinic helps you understand the application steps and what information needs attention.

We can make the process clearer, but we cannot approve the application or promise the program’s decision.

  3. 03

Keep the annual renewal from becoming a surprise

CDCP renewals run annually. With your permission, the clinic reminds you when the renewal needs attention.

The reminder helps you act, though the renewal decision and its timing stay with the program.

  4. 04

The claim goes to Sun Life from here

R U Smiling bills Sun Life directly for applicable CDCP-covered care.

You do not have to file a claim yourself after you leave.

  5. 05

Know what is covered and what is not

Before treatment, the clinic explains what the available CDCP coverage applies to and what it does not apply to.

No coverage percentage or remaining amount is assumed. The desk checks it before you decide on treatment.

Four things the clinic does next.

  1. Step 01

Tell us where you are in the process

You may be checking eligibility, completing an application, renewing or already approved. Start with the stage you are in.

  2. Step 02

We explain the next administrative step

The clinic explains the requirement, the application question or the renewal action in front of you, and tells you what the program is actually asking for.

  3. Step 03

We check the available coverage before treatment

Once you are approved and ready to book, the clinic reviews what CDCP applies to before treatment begins.

  4. Step 04

    We bill Sun Life directly

The clinic submits applicable covered care directly to Sun Life.

Before you decide

You hear what CDCP will not cover.

CDCP can help with eligible dental care, but it does not mean every treatment is automatically covered in full.

The clinic explains the available coverage and the uncovered side, if any, before asking you to decide.
