Key Points to Know About Your Dental Coverage:

  • Your dental coverage is available as long as you are an enrolled and eligible student at Toronto Metropolitan University.
  • The plan is provided by The Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union, and you can download the Extended Health & Dental Plan coverage leaflet for the 2022-2023 academic year or the Plan booklet to see a summary of your benefits under your student plan.
  • Your myBenefits Card allows for direct billing at dental offices.
  • The Dental Plan covers up to a maximum of $750 per benefit year, and you must submit an estimate/pre-authorization before any dental treatment plan exceeds $500.

Recall exam package
  • Recalls include exams, bitewing X-rays and cleanings (up to 1 unit of polishing plus up to 1 unit of scaling) once per benefit year beginning September 1.
  • Fluoride treatments twice per benefit year beginning September 1 (19 years and under only)
  • Complete, general or comprehensive oral exams, full mouth x-rays and panoramic x-rays, once every 3 years
